The Question: How do I mix metals the right way in a new years outfit? (Like gold and silver clothes and accessories)
The Answer: New Year's Eve is an excellent time to break out your metallics. I think the best way to keep it looking balanced is to choose your clothes first, and then accessorize with the opposing metal jewelry. If you have a gold dress, add silver hoop earrings, or you can do a chunky gold chain necklace with a silver top. I'm down with shoes being neutrals, like navy, black, white, nude, statement colors, like hot pink, red, emerald, or metallics, just as long as they match your jewelry. Same rules go for your small clutch. But--and this is an important one--if you're making a statement with your shoes, keep the bag neutral, or vice versa. Choose your own heavy metal adventure with our NYE-approved slideshow.
