Since the 1996 release of their debut album Tigermilk, Belle and Sebastian have become weapons in every indie music listener's arsenal. Their songs have soundtracked late-night car rides, solo existential ponderings, and '50s-themed dance sessions. But with their new album Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance, the band has taken a decidedly new sonic direction: Think more accessible,  danceable songs. Peppered with synth, cheerful bridges, and, as always, nostalgia, we can confidently declare Girls In Peacetime as our new post-disco nap/pre-party album.

Stream the whole album over at NPR here before its January 20 release.
