Lady Gaga has, despite her on-stage antics and love of fashion, managed to keep a some sort of privacy about her personal life. She has adamantly stated that it isn't that hard to keep a low profile when you want—you just have to pay for it. So her relationship with Taylor Kinney, the star of Chicago Fire whom she met filming the video for "Yoü And I**" hasn't been the full-blown affair that we've come to associate with Gaga. However, their relationship—or at least what we see of it—has always been hopelessly charming, with Gaga going into hearts-as-eyes, nesting mode whenever she talks about him.
Today, she tweeted, "He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!" and posted a photo of a massive heart-shaped engagement ring on Instagram. If you think that sounds surprisingly traditional, Gaga has spoken about how she is totally okay with being "submissive" to Kinney (or at least embracing her domestic side.), “Oh yeah, he’s totally in charge. When I’m home, I’m like, shoes are off, I’m making him dinner. He has a job too and he’s really busy," she said.
For a gal as wild and emotive as Gaga, it is wonderful to see her matched with someone who seems to love the heck out of her.
**Which is slightly awkward because that song was very much written about her last boyfriend, Nebraskan native Lüc Carl.
