hbo is about to change the way you watch tv

Chances are, even if you don't have cable television, you have an HBO Go subscription. You know, the one you begged your parents and aunts and uncles and your third-cousin-twice-removed to give you the password to? After all, it wasn't like you had a choice in the matter—there was no other way you could get your Game of Thrones and Girls fix—aside from using virus-prone streaming sites (and let's be honest, they are highly pixelated, slow, and just all in all not ideal).

But now, HBO is about to change all of that. The company recently announced that they will be launching a stand-alone streaming video service in 2015, so you can watch HBO without an actual TV. "It is time to remove all barriers to those who want HBO," HBO's chairman and CEO Richard Plepler said. Adding, "All in, there are 80 million homes that do not have HBO and we will use all means at our disposal to go after them.”

Now, according to Fortune, we have an approximate date: April 6, the premiere date for the new season of Game Of Thrones. We're ready, HBO—ready to stay in bed and stream just about every film and show in the Internet's existence. Just one request: Please don't tell our distant relatives about this. We're trying to ride this password-sharing wave for as long as possible.
