here is prince harry in a tent, looking for squirrels

$

How does Prince Harry recover from the devastating news that he's not actually dating Emma Watson? Well, if you're the younger brother of the heir to the throne, you vanish into the woods and hide in a tent until the sad feelings go away.

Just kidding! While Harry was in fact chilling in a tent in the woods, it was for a way better reason (not that a little moping isn't valid, of course). The 30-year-old prince was in the Northumberland area of Northern England so he could learn more about the endangered red squirrels and presumably get a bunch of online magazines/celebrity blogs to write about them. (We got this info from People, so, mission accomplished.)

The squirrels are endangered because of the rise of their cousins, the gray squirrels, who carry a disease that is fatal to them. Early reports out of Northumberland suggest that Harry didn't spot any of the squirrels, but he did get photographed in a tent, so there's that.

shia labeouf now has a rat tail (and eyebrow piercing)

One of the most #inspiring artists of our generation (I actually say this without an ounce of sarcasm), Shia LaBeouf, just debuted an entirely new look—and it involves a rat tail and an eyebrow piercing (he got the piercing earlier this month, but something about the rat tail really just makes it sparkle more).

Some may say that LaBeouf's behavior has become increasingly erratic over the past few years—his unfortunate bouts with plagiarism, his performance art pieces, his arrest—but, as the actor told Interview magazine, he's been method acting the entire time, sacrificing his public image for his craft. "I try to make everything as real as possible," he said. "If it feels real to me, then I can go home happy. And there's no pain worse than being bad. So I'm willing to do anything and everything. It's not good for my personal life. But neither is being bad. I'd rather be anything but bad."

So, we're asking the #important questions: What on earth is the meaning behind this rat tail? Where did it come from? Was it there the whole time, hiding from us? Is unleashing it a way for LaBeouf to make us confront our deepest fears? Is it all for Sia? Is there a secret Even Stevens reunion he's preparing for? We could totally see Louis growing up to become one of those rat-tail-toting, pierced-eyebrow-flaunting dudes who works at a decrepit record store. Or is the actor just finally doing what he wants to do? Shia, if that includes getting an eyebrow piercing and a rat tail, we support you. You actually make it look kind of good?

this is how levi's makes its jeans

Like something straight out of science fiction, a laser beam slowly travels down the pant leg of a crisp blue jean, wisps of smoke billowing up off the surface and leaving behind a perfectly roughed-up look. Meanwhile, the denim washing machines nearby are generating ozone—O3 gas is a more powerful oxidizer than your basic bleach, and using it helps waste less water. Next door, pots of natural-fermentation indigo spill over like boiling stew. And across the room, a whole range of decidedly more lo-fi processes are taking place: a cluster of busy tailors sew away at their machines, swatches are strewn about for side-byside comparison, workers collaborate by the digital printing station, and rigid jeans are mounted on an inflatable mannequin contraption where sandpaper is applied by hand.

This is Levi’s Eureka Innovation Lab, a breeding ground for creative ideas in artistic treatment and technology where the brand’s product prototypes are made. To be clear, it is no factory—no automated lines or operators—rather, it is a place where a small team, headed up by director of global development Bart Sights, brainstorms and speedily brings to life technical, conceptual, and seasonal developments in fits, finishes, fabric, and prints. In layman’s terms, the lab’s staff is made up of a bunch of jean geniuses who play around with denim all day, test exciting new ideas, and ultimately create a sample product that can be tried out. Yes, they’re living the dream.

Eureka is a relatively new establishment, opened in April 2013, just a short walk from Levi Strauss & Co.’s global headquarters in San Francisco. Before then, Levi’s prototyping would happen mostly abroad at the company’s facility in Turkey, or at vendor factories around the world. But the brand recognized the benefit of having such a space close to home; it would allow Sights and company to work more intimately with Levi’s senior vice president of design Jonathan Cheung and his team, who come up with the specific product application ideas for the Eureka crew’s innovations. “Think of Eureka as a music studio. We’ll come here and see stuff and start to connect the dots—put a drum beat together with a melody, with a lyric. Eureka is where you play it, and you iron it out, do it over and over again,” explains Cheung. “But even beyond production, Eureka is our heart and soul. It gives another spirit to the company; you can just feel the integrity of this place.” He’s absolutely right.

NYLON market director Preetma Singh, associate features director Lisa Mischianti, and associate market editor Marissa Smith got the exciting opportunity to visit this denimhead heaven and undertake their own next-level customization of a pair of spring’snew 501 CTs, a style derived from the world’s first-ever blue jean, the 501, but which features a more tapered leg and slightly altered cut. Click through the gallery to see the exciting process and the awesome finished products.

Kelly Osbourne quits 'fashion police'

$

It looks like E!'s Fashion Police is about to undergo another makeover. Just weeks after welcoming new host Kathy Griffin, longtime co-host Kelly Osbourne has officially left the controversial series.  While most observers are speculating that Osbourne chose to vacate her post after her colleague, Giuliana Rancic, made insensitive comments about Disney star Zendaya's dreadlocks during the show's after-Oscars special, sources close to the network insist that Osbourne's departure had nothing to do with the controversy.

"Kelly Osbourne is departing E!'s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers," the network said in a statement.

Rancic first came under fire after she commented that Zendaya's hair smelled like "patchouli oil" and "weed", which prompted Osbourne to threaten leaving the show unless the matter was resolved. Rancic has since apologized, but it seems her mea culpa wasn't enough to keep Osbourne on board.

"Fashion Police will return, as scheduled, on Friday, March 30th at 9:00 p.m. and no decisions have been made on her replacement," the network added.

No word yet on who will replace Osbourne, but the rumor mill is already pointing towards Khloe Kardashian, which would mean some much-needed exposure for the under-the-radar Kardashian clan. Just kidding guys!

Kanye West Reveals New Album Title

Kanye West has been unusually active on Twitter lately, which means his new album is close. And now we have a title. The Yeezus follow-up will be called So Help Me God West tweeted Saturday. We also get our first look at the cover art, which some intrepid Redditers discovered is a 13th century symbol of the Virgin Mary. Could the religious iconography be a tribute to West's late mother Donda? If West really is Yeezus, that would make his mother — well, you get it.

In a recent inrerview with The Breakfast Club, West revealed that the album is 80% done, and that it's about "embracing the music, embracing joy and just being a service to the people." After West debuted possible lead single "All Day" with a fiery performance at last week's Brit Awards, the album's sound is starting to come into focus. And with the already revealed disparate sounding songs "Wolves", "Only One" and "FourFiveSeconds", it looks like that sound is no focus at all. That's a good thing. Check out the art for So Help Me God Below.

song premiere: marina and the diamonds "forget"

Attention all Tumblr kids: Marina and the Diamonds is back. Pull out your star decals and blush-pink satin ribbons; then, grab your suede dancing shoes—because although her new single "Forget" is overtly dark, it will inspire you to recreate one of those quintessential high school bleacher dance routines (you know, the ones seemingly created for a John Hughes film).

Like the rest of her upcoming album, FROOT, "Forget" displays an entirely different sound from the Welsh singer's last album, 2012's Electra Heart. “As soon as I'd finished the record and 'Primadonna' came out, I already knew what I wanted to do with my third record. I knew it was going to be completely different,” Marina said. “I was really grateful for the experiences and opportunities that Electra Heart gave me, but I will never do it again. It was very early on that I understood that.” Instead of focusing on pop-oriented electro hits, her latest work is an homage to the singer's early sound—it's overwhelmingly indie, displaying a fresh sound that nobody other than Marina has attempted to create. "Forget" almost sounds like a more mature mashup of "Rootless" and "Hollywood"—its lyrics are introspective and its sound is dominated by drum samples and chord progressions, sans synth.

FROOT will be released April 6. Until then, play "Forget," exclusively premiering here, on loop.

lady gaga and taylor kinney did something wild together

Chicago is coming off the coldest February in its history, so it made perfect sense that Lady Gaga and her fiancé Taylor Kinney went for a casual dip in the ungodly waters of Lake Michigan yesterday. The occasion was the 2015 Chiacgo Polar Plunge, an annual event that raises money for the Special Olympics. The newly engaged couple were joined by Vince Vaughn, Chicago mayoral candidate Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, and another 4,500 people who braved the 32 degrees waters in the name of charity. Gaga entered the waters on the shoulders of her shirtless boyfriend while ceremonial bagpipes rang through the frigid air (what, that's not what you and your person did on Sunday?). The two helped raise $1.1 million, the most in the event's history. Gaga's plunge can be seen in beautiful slow motion below. It makes us cold just watching it.

are cara delevingne and beyoncé making music together?

If you were out and about Saturday night, you may have missed the two Instagrams that sparked a fervent Tumblr rumor that Cara Delevingne and Beyoncé are making (what we assume to be) sweet music together. The two superstars (Delevingne is the master of basically every media industry possible; Bey is, well, Bey) posted nearly identical photos of each of their hands on a production board around midnight to their respective Instagram accounts. If the Internet has taught us anything, it's that there is no such thing as social media coincidence. So although no collaboration is technically confirmed as of late, we don't really need a confirmation to know that something's about to happen.

Delevingne has been upping her music cred as of late. She's been hanging around with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (which may very well be how Delevingne got to know Beyoncé in this sonic circumstance); she collaborated with Pharrell for Chanel's musical short film; and she's starred in multiple music videos for A$AP Ferg, Die Antwoord, and Chance the Rapper's project, Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment. She also has a pretty killer voice, as demonstrated by her '13 cover of "Sonnentanz" with Will Heard. There's no doubt that a collaboration with Queen Bey will really jumpstart her music career and bring Dele one step closer to world domination.

haim and M83 team up on an 'insurgent' track

We still have a few weeks left before Insurgent hits theaters, but the Divergent series just gave us something pretty major to hold us over: the first single from the soundtrack—a collaboration between HAIM and M83. "Holes In The Sky," a somber orchestral melody,  whisks us back on the run with Tris (Shailene Woodley) as she continues on her post-apocolyptic adventures. The song, which may very well be the film's main track, sets the tone for any and all dystopian day dreams.

“We’ve been fans of Anthony Gonzalez and M83 for a long long time so when he reached out to have us sing on the song we were ecstatic,” HAIM told MTV News in a statement. “We had the best time in the studio with him, it all happened so fast and was so easy and natural. We are so excited to be a part of this movie.”

The soundtrack also features songs by Royal Blood, Anna Calvi, Zella Day, SOHN, Imagine Dragons, and another (seemingly amazing) collaboration between Woodkid and Lykke Li. It will be released March 17, three days before the film hits theaters.

video exclusive: nick offerman's thoughts on womanhood

As Ron Swanson on NBC's dearly departed sitcom Parks & Recreation, Nick Offerman elevated masculinity into a kind of religion. To him, steak wasn't just a piece of meat—it was a holy relic to be worshipped (and then scarfed down). So it only made sense that when we got the 44-year-old actor in front of a camera—sporting some great, bizarro Ron Swanson facial hair—that we'd ask him his thoughts on womanhood. Offerman's considered response touches on wage inequality between genders and basically says that if women were running the world, it would probably be a better place. Can't argue with that.

khloé kardashian goes full-on blonde

Just days after Chrissy Teigen ditched her highlighted locks, Khloé Kardashian has decided to dye her own ombré hair a sun-kissed, bronzed blonde. (Serious question: Is there a certain quota that needs to be met for blonde Hollywood celebrities?) The reality TV star and beauty mogul debuted her new 'do on Instagram with a paparazzi shot captioned, "I'm in love with my blonde hair!!! @traceycunningham1 you killed it with this color!!!"

If it seems like you've already seen this hair before, well, it's because you have. Khloé, along with her sisters, has experimented with her hair color multiple times. Since Keeping Up With the Kardashians began, she has had dark brown, ombré, ash blonde, and highlighted hair. While her latest change brings to mind her older sister Kim's blonde stint, the lack of Céline duster coats makes this look much more Cali cool. We're digging the new look, Khloé.

song premiere: stalking gia "born free"

Stalking Gia's music has a declarative quality that explodes with confidence. The New York-based artist writes songs that are just as unapologetically spirited as the city itself. It's no surprise that her alternative pop sound, tinged with just the right amount of irreverence, has earned her comparisons to songstresses like Lana Del Rey, Tove Lo, and Banks. Still, Stalking Gia's music refuses to be muddled in the ever-growing electro-pop landscape—her songs are laced with a passion that thrives on individuality and quirkiness. Her newest track, "Born Free" fittingly praises those who stand out in a crowd. Dependent on bold synth, an addictive bassline, and a battle cry-esque chorus, the track is one super-cool anthem for self-expression.

Check out the song below and don't forget to stalk follow Stalking Gia on Facebook and Twitter.

jared leto's legendary hair is no more

Jared Leto's long, lustrous mane is no more. The hippie hairstyle that had become Leto's signature look over the last couple of years fell victim to a pair of scissors earlier today, when filmmaker David Ayer tweeted out the following image:

That's the back of Jared Leto's head, as the actor begins preparations for his role as the Joker, in Ayer's movie Suicide Squad, which is about a bunch of super villains teaming up to run dangerous black ops missions for the government. Leto, in his first role after winning Best Supporting Actor last year, will be joined by Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne, Joel Kinnaman, and Jai Courtney. When asked over the weekend what Leto's version of the Joker will be like, Ayer used one word: "Majestic." We'd like to add to that description, "Short-haired."

kat dennings on the role she nearly stopped sleeping for

In the upcoming film To Write Love On Her Arms, Kat Dennings plays Renee Yohe, a young woman who battles addiction, depression, and self-mutilation. It’s a true story about a real person and her path to recovery. Though the plot of the film is pretty straightforward—struggle followed by a journey to triumph through friendship—its origins are anything but conventional. "To Write Love On Her Arms" was originally a short story written by Renee's friend Jamie Tworkowski about the five days leading up the beginning of Renee's treatment. The story went viral. Inspired by the response, Tworkowski founded TWLOHA, the nonprofit: More of a movement than an organization, it spreads awareness about self-injury and addiction and aims to reach people facing the same issues as Renee in order to connect them with resources.

So, how in the world do you make a message-driven movie that’s inspired by a nonprofit without it turning into a PSA? Though Dennings says, modestly, that’s in the hands of the filmmakers, its her acting chops and commitment to her character that lends authenticity to the story; it’s what makes this a film instead of just something you watch in health class when the teacher’s out sick.

It wasn’t easy, though. “This was a very dark and difficult film to make,” she says. The role involved things she’d never done before, like a scene in which she snorts cocaine off a bathroom floor (it wasn’t actually cocaine, she clarifies). She also cut down on sleep for a more authentic experience: “The person I was portraying was bipolar, depressed, suicidal, and addicted to drugs. I couldn’t identify with a lot of those things, so I decided to sleep a maximum of four hours a night the whole time we were shooting,” Dennings explains. “I could only imagine how tormented someone would feel who was going through that, so I wanted to feel as close to it as I could.”

Renee's recovery as portrayed in the film isn't all sunshine and rainbows, which adds another element of realness. "The director and I were both very on the same page about that, about wanting it to be dark and gritty and accurate, not too like 'Well, now she’s better!' Because that’s not what happens. When you’re an addict and you start recovering, it’s really one day at a time. You’re not magically better," Dennings explains. "I know I was very conscious of that. I didn't want this to be a hammer in your head, I wanted it to be a story about one person."

And if that one person's story resonates with viewers in a positive way, it will have accomplished its mission. "If this film makes one person ask for help, it's a success," she says. "This is a story about Renee, who is an amazing girl, but the story is very universal. It happens every day."

Starring alongside Dennings is Chad Michael Murray, Rupert Friend, Juliana Harkavy, Corbin Bleu, and Mark Sau. It's out on DVD tomorrow. Check out an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip, below.

natalie dormer goes from 'game of thrones' to hozier video girl

Much like her Game of Thronescastmates Richard Madden and Sophie Turner, Natalie Dormer has been veering away from her medieval character Margaery Tyrell. Her latest project? Hozier's dark, seductive new video "Someone New."

Directed by Anthony Byrne, the video splits between Hozier (who is serenading a crowd in a dimly lit room) and Dormer as she wanders through the hazy venue and seedy streets looking for a—let's just say, "suitor." It's unclear whether she's seeking a companion to alleviate the loneliness in her life, or whether she's just craving physical attention, but perhaps that's the point. Without any sort of backstory, we're able to infuse the four-minute clip with our own personal narrative. Also, it's just 100% badass—Dormer's character is able to freely fantasize about whomever she wants; and it's up to her to realize her sexual desires and act upon them. “It was a joy to be a part of the ‘Someone New’ video, which for me explores the struggle in all our heads between the real and imaginary," Dormer said in a statement. "It plays with ideas of how loneliness and isolation are two different things and the weight or lightness we can attach to loving another person.”

cara d and st. vincent are maybe making out

In a world where cool supermodels have eyebrows for days and equally beautiful musicians have wild hair and elfin cheekbones, we bring you this rumor: Cara Delevingne might be dating Annie Clark (St. Vincent). Or at least, she may be smooching her. They were allegedly seen kissing at the BRIT Awards Afterparty, and were then seen leaving together (according to the Daily Mail). Obviously this could mean anything. Maybe they were just rubbing their faces on each other like kittens. Maybe they are just friends who like to kiss when they get drunk. The only thing we know is that we are all lucky such attractive people can come into contact with one another without the world just exploding.

The Sun took it a step further, claiming that Cara and Annie have been dating for four months. There's even a rumor that Cara has a tattoo that says "AC" on her finger. Maybe she just really likes air conditioning, or maybe she really likes one Annie Clark. (We are big fans of both.)

You can see the (semi-creepy paparazzi) photos of them together at the Daily Mail. After we talk about their relationship status, can we talk about St. Vincent's cape game?

beauty from the grocery store

Here’s a fun fact: The FDA doesn’t approve cosmetics. Meaning… that $200 tincture that promises to turn your face into an eternally youthful, forever luminous flower petal might have some real weird things in it. Not to mention the fact that it might not work—because no one is really checking.

As it turns out, sometimes the best things to put on your face aren’t the things you can barely afford, but the products you’ve already purchased—to eat. Yes, your skin care can be bought in the natural section of your local grocery store, and there’s only minimal assembly required. So, why not keep it simple, cheap, and effective?

We tapped celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas for her favorite DIY recipes, using fruit, yogurt, and other goodies you can grab while you’re stocking up on almond milk and frozen broccoli. (Of course, if you're allergic to any of these foods, or if you think you might be, please consult a doctor before putting them on your skin.)

Ultra-Soothing Ointment

Combine 1/2 cup of chamomile tea with one teaspoon rosemary, one tablespoon of milk, and three slices of cucumber. Apply to anywhere that feels irritated for twenty minutes. The cucumber will cool your skin and calm it down, and the other ingredients have anti-inflammatory properties as well.

Hydrating Mask

Combine 1 1/2 cups yogurt, 1/2 avocado, and 1/4 cup honey. Gently apply it to your face with a sea sponge and leave it on for about twenty minutes. Your dry winter skin will thank you.

Brightening Treatment

Combine 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup mashed strawberries, and 1/4 cup honey. Apply it all over your face and neck for about ten minutes to reveal brighter, perkier skin.

At-Home Facial

Combine 1/4 cup of yogurt, three tablespoons of warm honey, and two tablespoons of oat grass juice or wheat grass juice. Apply to your face and leave on for however long you'd like. The yogurt will exfoliate and sooth, while the honey hydrates, and the juice will help stimulate lymphatic drainage. In other words, this does all the things.

Calming Mask

Mix 3 tablespoons of olive oil with half an avocado. Smooth it over your face, and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse it with tepid water. Your skin will be hydrated, softer to the touch, and soothed, as this mask has anti-inflammatory properties.

tinder is getting a huge makeover

Tinder has just unveiled their new premium service, Tinder Plus, and it's a little weird. Besides the ability to go back on a swipe (in case you regret it?) the company will be charging people according to their age.

Tinder Plus will cost people over 30 $19.99 per month, as opposed younger people, who'll have the privilege of paying $9.99 for the service. We know some thirty-somethings who already feel guilty looking for love on their smartphones—this won't help.

The service debuted in the UK today and will be coming to North America soon. Added features will also include the ability to connect with people in other parts of the world and the ability to turn off ads, which means that in between potential soulmates you'll have to swipe through a commercial or two.

Perhaps the biggest change—and the way Tinder plans to lure the lonely masses to their service—will be offering Tinder Plus users unlimited likes. That means that regular Tinder will no longer be infinite. Instead, you'll only have a certain number of likes that will be represented by a heart that will slowly drain. Once it's empty, you'll need to wait for the heart to refill to resume your quest for happiness. Tinder, which is wildly popular, still hasn’t found the perfect way to monetize their product. Love or hate these changes, the company stands to make a lot of money from them.
